Damn Good Vegan

Project Details
SERVICE: Back Pocket Ops (Ongoing Partnership - Custom Scope)
TIMELINE: 6+ months
INDUSTRY: Food & Beverage Brand
-
Chef Patrice is the Founder and CEO of Damn Good Vegan, a food brand built around bold, flavorful vegan cuisine. Her passion and talent in the kitchen were undeniable—the food spoke for itself.
But translating that culinary excellence into a sustainable, scalable business in a digital-first world? That was a different challenge entirely.
As Damn Good Vegan began to grow, Patrice found herself feeling limited by the marketing and digital side of running a business. She knew how to create incredible food, but she didn't have the systems or knowledge to handle pricing, marketing, or backend operations confidently.
As a solo founder doing everything herself, exhaustion became the norm. Growth felt out of reach without support.
"I was great in the kitchen, but I didn't know how to run the business side. I was doing everything myself and burning out." — Chef Patrice

Chef Patrice joined Back Pocket Ops with a custom scope focused on marketing operations and business strategy. Together, we:
✓ Refined pricing and overall business strategy — Helped her price her products and services in a way that reflected her value, covered her costs, and supported sustainable growth (instead of undercharging and undervaluing her work).
✓ Created digital assets for marketing and pitching — Designed branded materials she could use for marketing efforts, wholesale pitching, partnership opportunities, and events—so she always had professional assets ready to go.
✓ Developed an email newsletter — Built out a newsletter strategy to stay connected with her community, share updates, and drive sales.
✓ Automated email funnels — Set up nurture sequences and sales funnels to convert leads without Patrice having to manually follow up with everyone (the business could work even when she wasn't actively selling).
The work wasn't just about implementing tactics. It was about giving Patrice the knowledge and confidence to understand how her business operates—so she could make informed decisions and grow sustainably.

Chef Patrice's story is a reminder that being great at your craft doesn't automatically mean you know how to run a business around it. And that's okay.
You don't have to be an expert in marketing, pricing, operations, and strategy. You just need someone who is—someone who can build the systems, teach you what you need to know, and give you the confidence to grow.
The best partnerships don't just do the work for you. They empower you to understand your business so you can lead it with clarity.
Is Back Pocket Ops right for you? If you're a talented founder stuck in the backend logistics and ready for support that empowers (not just executes), let's talk.
